lighter as the train leaves the station
watercolour scenes,
dreams of the yet-to-be
waiting, and watching through windows,
open into the unknown, for a place I can call home…
i thought I needed space to find the answers,
the grey daylight,
illuminates what is left behind
crawling underground to look for meaning,
drift away on the ebb and flow,
finding my way home...
maybe I was too close to see
i was too un-soft to be
the daughter of the soil that you,
you had turned for me,
our memories are written in the feeling,
your trace I follow,
and that light at the window
hand in hand we bridge the space between us,
you’re the light at the window
you’re the place I can call home

Little Girl

little girl
give it time
there is so much more to your life
there are mountains to move,
between you and now,
little girl,
don’t cry
little girl
hold your head high
they don’t know what you have inside,
every brick in your wall,
will soon turn to sand,
little girl,
there are oceans to cross
where you’ll stare at the blue
and feel freer than you ever knew you could feel,
and please believe me when I say,
love is real
love is possible
love is for you…
little girl
give it time
there is so much more to your life
there are mountains to move,
between you and now,
little girl

Willow Tree
04:19
|
|||
walk in words, never said,
voices swirl like autumn leaves, burning through my brain
willow tree, old as water
show me how to, weep the earth to life
woman made of bone and steel
unclench her jaw and from it flows a river
let it out, let it in,
she may bend but, can’t be broken,
like the green, willow tree...
thoughts like rain upon, the surface of the lake
demons made of me, counting every mistake
sometimes, so you can give, you have to learn to take
though she weeps, she will grow,
bloom in the willow’s every hue, from winter comes the spring,
sing of you, to the stars,
reflect their light and,
trust the willow,
seek the knowing
create the answers
you are all, and enough, and alive

love of mine, someday you will die, but i'll be close behind
and follow you into the dark
no blinding light, or tunnel to gates of white, just our hands clasped so tight
waiting for the hint of a spark
if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
illuminate the 'no's on their vacancy signs
if there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
then i'll follow you into the dark
in catholic school, as vicious as roman rule
i had my knuckles bruised, by a lady in black
and i held my tongue, as she told me son
fear is the heart of love
so i never went back
if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
illuminate the 'no's on their vacancy signs
if there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
then i'll follow you into the dark
you and me, have seen everything to see,
from bangkok to calgary, and the souls of your shoes
are all worn down, the time for sleep is now
but there's nothing to cry about,
'cause we'll hold each other soon
in the blackest of rooms
if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
illuminate the 'no's on their vacancy signs
if there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
then i'll follow you into the dark
